I’m a photographer and commercial printer which makes me a bit unusual in that I bring twenty years of darkroom experience before another twenty years with digital, both shooting and printing with large format fine art printers. I work a lot with artists, photographing or scanning their original work so I can produce colour accurate reproduction prints. This requires an understanding of how digital devices capture colour, and how this is then translated into digital print. The two processes are quite different so that understanding one doesn’t mean you understand the other…..
